Cloister of the Novices, with Chapel

Small cloister with a convenient layout, with a groin vaulted arcade made from brick and facing sillar stone walls and columns. Chapel with barrel vault, encircled by a polychrome cornice, with a Renaissance-style altar.

Cloister of the orange trees

  • Capacity: 200 standing, 100 seated approx.
  • Area: 575 m2

This dark blue cloister features mural paintings of birds and flowers made using tempera paints. It is adorned by a series of canvases entitled Alma y Amor Divino (Soul and Divine Love), with a whimsically shaped entryway. The cloister is named after the orange trees found here.

Painting Gallery

  • Capacity: 350 seated approx.
  • Area: 788 m2

Three breathtaking rooms made from two long, parallel vaults, and another running perpendicular, each connected, respectively, to two of the four arcades of the Main Cloister and the Cloister of the Orange Trees. The floor is made from old bricks. Thanks to its unique acoustics, the Painting Gallery is perfect for concerts, especially for Baroque music and piano recitals. There are a total of ninety-two paintings of different sizes and thirteen sculptures on display here.

Refectory

  • Capacity: 150 people or 10 tables of 10 person each one.
  • Area: 157 m2

Formerly used as the nuns’ dining area, this spacious room features a small pulpit and a barrel vaulted ceiling. The floor is made from wood, and there are sillar stone and wood benches built into the walls, which are adorned with paintings.

The Big Kitchen

  • Capacity: 35 seated, 60 de standing. approx.
  • Area: 119 m2

Ideal environment for small group meetings. Its sooty walls and the curious utensils that are exhibited there make it an extremely welcoming and mysterious space.

Court of Silence

  • Capacity: 200 standing people

The second courtyard that is found when entering the monastery, with its ocher arches and walls and the beautiful rubber tree in the middle, make it an ideal space for special events.

Main Cloister

  • Capacity: 750 standing, 300 seated approx.
  • Área: 1270.61 m2

The largest of the convent’s cloisters, painted in a bright ochre color, with the traditional molding, cornices, and other elements painted white. The arcade floor is made of brick, while the courtyard floor features a checkered design made using sillar stone and cobblestones. The cloister runs parallel to the church nave, and is adorned with thirty-one paintings from the Cusco School (Escuela Cusqueña), along with a mural painting in the arcade.
